Dr. Paul McDonald

Qualified in 1979 from Trinity College Dublin. I completed training in General Practice in Scotland in 1984. After seven years practicing as a GP in Scotland I returned to Co. Mayo, Ireland until taking up my current practice in Cobh in 1991.

During my time as a General Practitioner, I have developed a special interest in Palliative Care. I am also involved in care of the elderly by way of attending Cobh Community Hospital and the attending GP for Brookfield Care Centre in Leamlara.

I obtained a Masters of Service in Medical Education in 2011 as part of commitment to undergraduate education.

Dr. Lisa Glynn

Dr. Glynn joined the practice in 2020 She is a graduated from University College Cork in 2012. She completed her internship in hospitals throughout county Cork before working in New Zealand where she gained experience in women’s health working as Senior House Officer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

She then returned to Cork where she worked in the Paediatric dept in Cork University Hospital. Dr. Lisa did a year of basic specialist training in Paediatrics before changing to General Practice training. She gained experience in psychiatry (mental health), emergency medicine and general adult medicine throughout her GP training. She completed the Cork GP training scheme in July 2020. Her specialist area of interest include Paediatrics and Women’s Health.

As well as being a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners (MICGP) Dr. Lisa has completed a diploma in women’s health with the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG) and has a certificate in contraception with the ICGP.

Dr. Mary McLoughlin

Qualified 1981 - University College Cork.
Worked in hospitals in Cork and Limerick Regional until 1987.

1988-2008 - worked with Aid Agencies abroad in developing countries.
1989 - present - work in GP practices in Cobh Medical Centre & Cork.

Mary McCarthy

Practice Manager

ICGP Practice Management Course 2001. At the heart of this busy practice is Mary, who has been with Cobh Medical Centre for 25years. While she distinguishes herself by her strong commitment to the practice, her kind, caring demeanour has won her the love and respect of both colleagues and patients alike. Mary has been hugely influential in the progression of the practice over the years and overseas with kindness every aspect of the day-to-day running of same. Often referred to as ‘Mammy’ – we would be lost without her!

RGN Southbank University London. Bernice has been a Practice Nurse for 13yrs and she has daily shown her passion for caring for people, with special interests in Paediatrics, Women’s Health, Wound Care, Nutrition and Care of the Elderly. A reliable, dedicated, much admired medical professional who shows respect and kindness to patients and colleagues alike.
